FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
The Barbie the Movie (2023) Gloria Barbie Doll (HPJ98) is
such a lovely doll! Her face sculpt is not an exact match to the actress that
plays Gloria in the movie, but it is a close enough match for a passable resemblance.
Her face sculpt reminds me of a previous celebrity doll from years ago. I will do
some research and provide an update in my full review article on this doll. She
has made to move articulation which I am super enthused about! For me and my
preferences, any articulation is well appreciated, and it is now less of a concern
for me and one less issue to deal with as a doll photographer. She already has
a body that allows for the most articulation possible. No need to buy an
additional doll for the purposes of a rebody. I really do like her outfit! We do not see a
lot of Barbie dolls dressed in businesswoman suits and the outfit appears to be
of good quality. I can’t say if it is durable because that will only become
apparent over time and usage. I particularly love her high heels! They look
very stylish and not play line. I believe that I could dress up my other dolls
in these pieces which would definitely assist with diversifying my doll world
and making my doll photography look more believable. This is a petite doll so
it almost goes without saying that this outfit will be limited to how many dolls
it can actually fit. However, it is a chance to dress up all petite dolls in my
collection in a mature and conservative manner. I have noticed that it can be
difficult to find such outfits at my local retail store in the toy isle.
