FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

This Barbie the Movie (2023) Barbie in Plaid Matching Set Doll (HRF26) is a wonderful addition to any doll collector's collection! From the trailers, we don't see this particular outfit on Margot Robbie, so it does hint nicely at pivotal scenes in the movie that we'll have to wait to see. With this in mind, I am really enjoying and appreciating this outfit this doll is wearing! Plaid can be one of those prints that if overused can lead to over kill quite quickly. I love the subtle interplay of the three soft pastel colors delicately overlapping each other! Is it just me or does this doll particularly radiate or glow beautifully in the promotional photos. Because it is from the Barbie Signature Black Label, it must uphold a certain level of quality. And, from the looks of the photos, it looks great! The more that I see of her, the more that I can't wait to put this doll on display and photograph her. Possible scenarios that come to mind are: Springtime and being outdoors for a stroll. Also, a car drive to see family is another scenario. A fun picnic outdoors seems to be a cute activity too.

Regarding this new face mold of Margot Robbie's face, due to the hairstyle of this doll, I think we can see a stronger resemblance between her and the actress. The one thing that I notice is that unlike her controversial pink gingham dress sister, this doll does not have the blunt cut bangs that should technically be curtain bangs. Instead, she features no bangs at all; just her long hair loose and parted at the side and nicely styled under a wide brimmed hat. For me the bangs debate is not a big concern of mine. Actually, I don't really have much of a concern about any of these dolls as much as I am just curious. I would like to know how come face molds with varied facial expressions were not created for each respective Margot Robbie doll if there were to be more than one doll? Why bother making virtually the same doll each time but in a different outfit? Why not, if you only planned to have one version of this character, just sell the same doll but instead have multiple fashion packs available for sale with different fashion styles? As a mild preference, I would have liked one doll that I could dress in multiple fashions sold separately than the other way around. At any rate, this detail to me is minor just as is the blunt vs curtain bangs debate. I bought this doll and the other versions willing and happily all the same!
