DOLL/PLAYSET PARTICULARS AND THOUGHTS:
Barbie the Movie 2023 Barbie in Pink Western Outfit Doll
HPK00 is currently a doll that is creating a lot of excitement in the doll
community and in anticipation for the release of the July 21st, 2023 Barbie The
Movie. Standard points have already been covered quite a few times already in
my first impressions article about this doll
and also in my articles about her other versions such her Perfect Day Barbie Doll
and her Back to Barbieland Barbie Doll.
In short, there is no bang controversy with this doll since she has no bangs.
Her hair is long, close to platinum blonde and parted down the center of her
head. This doll and the other dolls only have a close resemblance to the actors
portraying the characters and not an exact resemblance even though a new face mold
was made for the actress that plays Margot Robbie. She looks better in person
than in the initial photos released of her. No pixelation of the face paint and
her makeup is so natural and pretty on her! Think long painted eyelashes and
natural light pink lipstick with each version of Margot Robbie's doll face in
wave 1. She has basic fashionista era 12-point articulation that has a lot of
doll collectors and photographers rebodying her to made to move bodies for
their purposes whether it be for display or photograph sessions.
Since this is from the Black Label from Barbie Signature,
the quality will be better than play line for sure. You will see more quality
of clothes and details of accessories. All the dolls will usually have an
upgrade in clothing closure such as plastic snaps instead of Velcro on their
clothes. There will be more detailed designs on their clothes, jewelry, and
shoes. They might have a working or functioning accessory that points to what
their hobby, personal interests and/or professional occupation might be such as
the Barbie the Movie 2023 light pastel beach Ken doll
with his baby blue surfboard.
Barbie in Pink Western Outfit Doll HPK00 from head to toe
has some wonderful costume details to discuss. Starting with her bright white
cowboy hat! Although it is made of plastic, it is made with good detail and
attention to quality. The hot pink band with the white stars encircling the hat
is made from material and is not a sticker. Her outfit has been designed with a
70s retro vibe with a majorly hot pink and bright white color scheme. It is all
hot pink denim and no satin finish anywhere! This is such a missed opportunity
because I would have loved it if the bottom part of the legs where it flared
was in the satin finish! Could you see that? It would have been so nice! And
then every doll in Wave 1 except for the value dolls would have had a cute
satin detail included on his/her outfit somewhere! I am going to shed a tiny
Barbie sized tear about this before I toughen up and not ruin my painted-on
doll eyeliner.
It would appear that the way her hat is seated upon her head
can vary from box to box. Her hat will either be completely down covering her
eyebrows or up a little higher where you can see more of her forehead and face.
Of course, she looks prettier with more of her forehead showing. If displaying
her in the box is important to you, then make sure you compare the visibility
of her face with the other dolls being offered for purchase. Stars and light
paisley play heavily as a theme for the patterns. Her handkerchief scarf around
her neck is in hot pink paisley. By the vest pockets are little, tiny stud
accent stars that are just too cute and great detailing! In addition to this
hot pink vest that she is sporting, she is also wearing a matching pair of
bootcut, bellbottom cowboy pants and white cowboy boots. I do love the details
on the cowboy boots. Certain details are colored in gold or brown. It is a nice
choice of accent colors. And she is sporting shiny silver hoop earrings.
Posing her for photo opportunities will be fun and
delightful! Custom parties or cosplay events anyone? I personally just want to
run around town twinning with my mini me both of us dressed as Pink Western
Barbie! It may not even matter if it is for an event or Halloween or not. I
would do it just for fun!

MY DOLL/PLAYSET FROM TARGET:
My Barbie in Pink Western Outfit Doll Barbie The Movie 2023
(HPK00) was the first in person retail store Barbie the Movie 2023 doll
purchase. The other six dolls from this doll collection were all online
purchases. Since shortly after the dolls were released for sale this one lasted
at least at least 2 to 3 days before she completely sold out online at Target
and Mattel Creations. However, it would appear that she is available in store
for sale at local Target store only. Call around and get her before she sells
out again.
In person, I can't stress how much of a lovely doll she is,
and I am very happy to have her in my personal collection. When looking at her
a few times, I begin to pick up on various details that I either missed at
first glance or didn’t realize exactly how awesome they are. Her hat has been
attached to her head using the same method used to attach a doll's head to its
doll box when factory packaged. When removed, the hat does still fit snuggly on
her head. However, take precautions to ensure that it doesn't fall off or get
lost. In addition to box hair that nearly every doll struggles with, she also
has hat hair too! Remove her hat and you will see what I mean. Her paisley pink
scarf is adorably tied around her neck. But it has been attached with plastic
to her vest to keep it in place. The little plastic tag isn't noticeable but if
you want to change her outfit, you will have to remove it. The star studs near
her front vest pockets are pink and shiny. Her vest closes with plastic snaps
and her pants have a hook closure. I like the pinkish purple horseshoe on the
back of her vest and the pinkish purple stars on her butt. Super cute details.
I could not remove her star shaped silver earrings! I thought if I pulled too
hard, the earring would have broken, or her rubber ear would have split open. I
could not let this happen since this happens to be my daughter's doll and she
is graciously letting me use her for this review!
PRICING
This Barbie the Movie 2023 Barbie in Pink Western Outfit
doll (HPK00) is currently being sold online at Mattel Creations for $50.00, and
Target for $50.99. Both prices are before tax and shipping and handling. Again,
I had to purchase mine in store because this got sold out online at both
stores. It will also appear on online auction too as well like eBay, but the
prices are twice and triple the current retail value. If you need it now or it
is not for sale in your area, then please purchase wisely.
I will update in the future with further details as more
information becomes available to me.
